On Saturday, July 18, an International Expert Scientific-Practical Conference was held in Prague dedicated to the issue of the accession of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961<\/a>. <\/h2>

During the event, participants discussed the international legal aspects of accession to the Convention, perspectives on establishing diplomatic relations between the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Ukraine, and other states, as well as issues of international recognition and cooperation.<\/p>

The conference was attended by representatives of the government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, international experts, lawyers, public figures, and representatives of the Ukrainian professional community.<\/p>

Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria Ahmed Zakayev joined online<\/h4>

The Prime Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Akhmed Zakayev, delivered a presentation in an online format. In his speech, he addressed in detail issues related to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961<\/strong> <\/a>and emphasized its importance as a fundamental international legal document governing diplomatic relations between states. <\/p>

Akhmed Zakayev also stated that only through the establishment of full-fledged diplomatic relations based on the norms of international law is it possible to achieve international recognition for the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, strengthen cooperation with democratic states, and ensure the effective protection of the national interests of the Chechen people.<\/p>

In his speech, the Honorary Consul of the ChRI to Slovakia, Juraj Mes\u00edk, referring to the experience of the peaceful division of Czechoslovakia, stated that international law contains legal mechanisms that allow for the consideration of issues regarding the participation of states in international treaties, including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.<\/p>

The State Minister of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Abdulla Ortakhanov, proposed submitting a draft of the final resolution for a two-week expert-legal review. He emphasized that the document must be thoroughly prepared with regard to the norms of international law, the existing international legal framework, and documents concerning Russian-Chechen relations registered within the UN system. According to him, such an approach will allow for the creation of a legally precise position that can be presented to the international community and relevant UN structures. <\/p>

The Ombudsperson for Human Rights of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Roza Dunayeva, emphasized in her contribution the importance of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations as one of the most important instruments of international law and diplomatic dialogue. She drew attention to the need for a comprehensive expert analysis of the application of the Convention’s provisions in relation to the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and stressed that complex political-legal issues can only be resolved and the rights of nations protected on the basis of international law, diplomacy, and mutual respect. <\/p>

G\u00fcnter Fehlinger-Jahn: Ichkeria, Kosovo, and the Right of Nations to Freedom<\/h4>

Austrian politician and analyst G\u00fcnter Fehlinger-Jahn, known for his support of Ukraine and NATO expansion, speaks in support of the right of nations to freedom and self-determination.<\/p>

When speaking about Kosovo and Bosnia, he recalls that Europe has already faced wars in which the issue of protecting nations and international law became a central theme.<\/p>

In connection with the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Fehlinger emphasizes the need to devote international attention to the fate of the Chechen people and links this issue to the principles of freedom, human rights, and international law.<\/p>

For supporters of Ichkeria, the example of Kosovo represents proof that similar issues can become the subject of international discussion. Fehlinger finds parallels with Ukraine and declares that the protection of freedom and sovereignty is of fundamental importance. <\/p>

Ichkeria, Kosovo, Ukraine \u2013 different stories, but a common question: the right of nations to their own future.<\/p>

At the conclusion of the meeting, a corresponding resolution was adopted aimed at developing international dialogue and strengthening legal mechanisms for diplomatic cooperation.<\/p>
