And one feels ashamed. They immensely value everyone who spreads awareness about them in the West. Yet it is they, not us, who risk their freedom and perhaps their lives in the struggle against a criminal machinery that threatens us all. And they are so incredibly grateful for a single short article on a small Czech website…
Yes, we correspond with Russian partisans. For a long time now. We interview them, talk to them about their motivation and their difficulties, and look for ways to draw attention to their activities and existence. It is moving desperately slowly.
Meanwhile, partisan groups and other initiatives in Russia are simply disappearing. Their Telegram channels suddenly go silent and that’s it. The water has closed over another brave soul who refused to remain silent. How many of them have disappeared without anyone even noticing their struggle against tyranny? What happened to them?
Hence the urgency; that is why it is needed now. That is why we need your help. The more people know about them, the greater the chance they will not just vanish. The Russian regime fears their—and our—courage. When we talk and write about them—and when there are many of us—it will be harder for the propaganda. And that is truly no small feat, considering it costs us almost nothing.
When someone can do something for a good cause, they must. And so we decided to do SOMETHING. At least that first step.
A successful fifteen-day campaign, RUSSIANS WHO ARE NOT SILENT, took place on STARTOVAČ. From its proceeds, we funded the first two months of intensive work to increase awareness of Russian partisans and other participants of the Russian resistance movement in the public sphere.
As a platform for meeting and cooperation, we established the long-term project RESISTANCE MOVEMENT MONITORING | PARTON.
