A Resistance Member’s Test of Civic Normalcy

The partisan initiative Skrepach offers a simple test. Try it yourself; it is surprisingly valid even outside of Russia:

⚠️A short test to reveal your true potential

For years, we were taught to think that resistance is something distant: for heroes, for the desperate, for “someone other than us.”
And “we” are ordinary, tired, busy with survival.
But dictatorships do not fall because of heroes.
They collapse when ordinary people stop agreeing internally.

People often do not even know their true potential because they have been taught not to listen to themselves.
Try to answer honestly.
This is not an audit or an accusation. It is a mirror.

Short test:

📍Is it physically uncomfortable for you to listen to official lies, even though you pretend not to notice?
📍 Have you ever caught yourself thinking, “This isn’t normal,” even though everyone around you was saying, “This is how everyone lives”?
📍 Do you feel shame or anger because of violence committed “in the name of the motherland”?
📍 Do you understand that your silence does not mean consent, but fear?
📍 Are you terrified not so much by punishment, but by the thought that one day you will get used to it and feel nothing at all?
📍 Do you refuse to believe that cruelty can be justified by “circumstances,” “the times,” or “an order”?
📍 Do you notice how the language of lies replaces the meaning of words, and does it frustrate you?
📍 Do you respect those who refuse to participate in evil, even though you yourself have not yet made that decision?
📍 Do you feel everything inside you rebelling when you are asked to “be like everyone else”?
📍 Do you still remember what dignity is supposed to look like, even though everyone around you pretends it doesn’t exist?

If you answered “yes” to at least a few points, we have an important message for you:
you are okay.
This is not weakness.
It is a sign of inner freedom.

SUPPORT OUR WORK

We bring visibility to the Russian resistance movement.

The EIGHT BRAVE SOULS project maps and visualizes the activities and connections of the Russian resistance movement. Let’s push this topic into public debate. Let’s thumb our noses at the Russian regime and our own prejudices. When we talk and write about them—and when there are many of us—it will make things harder for Russian propaganda. And that is already something. Every bit counts.
