Behind every logo or chevron stands a group of determined people. Every point on the timeline represents one courageous act by various initiatives. While military units are practically all fighting alongside the defenders of Ukraine, partisans are undermining the Russian regime and its war machine in Russia and Belarus. Political initiatives provide an umbrella for the resistance and support it with information, build relationships with the West, and, above all, do not underestimate the necessity of coalitions and alliances.
Civic initiatives, however, form the necessary foundation for all the previous ones. Not everyone can derail a train, but anyone can express dissent or help their neighbor if they want to.
Mapping resistance forces often resembles untangling several intertwined balls of yarn. When successful, the process reveals exactly where each thread leads.

Let us push the Russian resistance into the public debate. Let us defy the Russian regime as well as our own prejudices. When we talk and write about them—and when there are many of us—propaganda will have a harder time. And that is already something. Every bit counts.
