Mykhailo Podolyak confirmed the offer of pro-Ukrainian Russian legions for residents of the shelled border regions of the Russian Federation, reports RBC-Ukraine with reference to the United News telethon broadcast.

“RVC (Russian Volunteer Corps, editor’s note) undoubtedly demonstrates an alternative stance on how a country should treat its citizens – while Putin’s soldiers, without changing their ‘human shield’ tactics, threaten civilians on their own land and in their homes.

Russia is deploying its forces in residential areas, [fighters of] the RVC go there and fight directly with Russian Federation units, while Russia uses other units to attack the civilian population of Russia,” he emphasized.

He also stated that in connection with the situation in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, Ukraine agrees to provide local residents with humanitarian corridors to leave the war zone.

“RVC fighters operate based on key humanitarian standards, which is why they announce they can organize corridors… Ukraine is ready to provide humanitarian corridors if necessary – to save the civilian inhabitants of Russia,” the advisor to the head of the Presidential Office added.

A special operation by the Russian Volunteer Corps and the Freedom of Russia Legion continues in the Belgorod region. The fighters have begun receiving many requests to help with the evacuation of the region.

Alexander, a representative of the Russian Volunteer Corps with the call sign “Fortuna,” also spoke about this during the telethon broadcast. Furthermore, he emphasized that while the Russians are providing corridors for the residents of the Belgorod region, they do not guarantee their safety, reports Kanal24.
