The Russian unit fighting on the Ukrainian side since 2014 has received recognition from the Ukrainians in the form of official war veteran status.

We do not fight for awards or for a salary!

From the first minute of the war, it has been clear to the Russian volunteers that they have a unique chance to finally stand up to Putin and his horde with weapons in hand, to avenge tortured and killed comrades, and to help the people of Ukraine defend their native land!

The question of our status, awards, benefits, and funding only began to emerge in the autumn of 2022, when we realized that we could clearly be something more than just a band of determined Russian nationalists. And the state we defended (and continue to defend) reached out to support us!

The war veteran status that the RVC fighters have gained has very important symbolic significance, in addition to the benefits themselves, of course. Our enemies are desperately trying to convince themselves and those around them that RVC fighters are just stupid pawns in the wrong hands, a tool that will be discarded after the war.

Some, completely detached from reality, predict for us the fate of the Cossacks of Lienz. But unlike them, we know history well and therefore do not repeat the mistakes of the past.

The Russian Volunteer Corps has long since become an integral part of Ukrainian society and continues to take root within it in the privileged position of defenders and veterans!
