Belarusian Freedom Day

Free Belarusians are celebrating Freedom Day (Дзень Волі, Dzień Voli) today, March 25. 3. 2026.

108. anniversary of the declaration of the independent Belarusian People’s Republic on March 25. 3. 1918. Belarusian was established as the state language, and the white-red-white flag and the Pahonia coat of arms were declared state symbols. The laws of the newly formed state also included civil liberties: freedom of expression, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, the right to strike, freedom of thought, and others. The Lukashenko regime harshly suppresses any celebrations of this day.

SUPPORT OUR WORK

We make the Russian resistance movement visible.

The EIGHT BRAVE SOULS project maps and visualizes the activities and connections of the Russian resistance movement. Let’s push this topic into public debate. Let’s thumb our noses at the Russian regime and our own prejudices. When we talk and write about them—and when there are many of us—Russian propaganda will have a harder time. And that is already something.

Every bit counts.
