A hero of Ichkeria and Ukraine has passed away. On September 13 of this year, news arrived of the death of the former deputy commander of the OBON special forces battalion, a prominent figure in the Ministry of Defense of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Colonel Khavazhi “Zumso” Amayev. We bring a report from Chechen-Press about his funeral.
Fighters of the Sheikh Mansur Battalion actively participated in organizing the funeral of our brother Khavazhi “Zumso” Amayev.
As we already know, the Chechen nation has suffered another heavy loss in the person of the hero of Ichkeria, Khavazhi “Zumso” Amayev, who had participated in the Russian-Ukrainian war for many years and fell victim to criminals as yet unknown to us.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. (To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.)
The fighters of the Sheikh Mansur Battalion, stationed in the Zaporizhzhia direction, were the first to learn of Khavazhi Amayev’s death; they organized the transport of the body from the morgue and its subsequent washing according to Muslim customs.
Then, these same fighters dug the grave and organized the Muslim sacrifice ritual (sag1a dakkhar).
The leadership of the Chechen Sheikh Mansur Battalion, represented by its commander Muslim Cheberloevsky, also organized the smooth arrival of Khavazhi Amayev’s relatives in Ukraine so they could attend his funeral.
In this regard, we express our heartfelt gratitude to our brothers from the Chechen Sheikh Mansur Battalion.

On my own behalf and on behalf of all the adult members of our family who follow the participation of our compatriots in the righteous Great Patriotic War of the Ukrainian people against the Russian-fascist occupiers, I express great thanks to the fighters of our battalion, bearing the name of the Imam of the Caucasus Sheikh Mansur, for organizing a dignified funeral for our brother! I also express my condolences to all the relatives of the brother who has come before the face of Allah, Holy is He and Great! I believe they can be proud of such a son and brother!
