He served as a sniper in the Second Chechen War; after it ended, he was imprisoned and tortured in Grozny for three years before emigrating to Norway. Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he arrived to fight on the side of Ukraine and helped train Ukrainian soldiers; within the Sheikh Mansur Battalion, he commanded the “Lom” tactical group. He received the “For Service to Islam and Ukraine” award from the Spiritual Administration of Ukrainian Muslims.
