A Chechen Brigadier General, he took command of the Dzhokhar Dudayev Battalion in 2015 following the death of Isa Munayev. Together with his wife, Amina Okuyeva, he has participated in the defense of Ukraine since 2014; Amina was murdered in 2017 during an assassination attempt targeting them both.
