Free Russia Forum once again calls on Russians in exile to support Ukraine

The 15th Free Russia Forum is taking place this weekend in Warsaw, Poland. The Forum Council has issued the following statements:

Statement of the Free Russia Forum on supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Russian volunteers

In the Russian exile public sphere, there are many figures who believe that direct support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Russian volunteer formations fighting in their ranks is unacceptable from a humanitarian or so-called “patriotic” point of view.

The Free Russia Forum brings together those who are convinced of the opposite. The defense of Ukraine, and thus the defense of Europe against Russian aggression and the Kremlin’s ideological plague, is a common cause for those who maintain the hope of seeing a free Russia.

Every year, European civic organizations organize mass fundraising campaigns—both for the Armed Forces and for the civilian population of Ukraine—expressing their solidarity with its struggle. Russian citizens living in various European countries participate in these collections alongside them.

Russian volunteers fighting against the Moscow tyranny, which has long since crossed all “red lines,” deserve respect and support!

The Free Russia Forum has previously organized fundraisers for the benefit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Russian volunteers and intends to continue doing so in the future. This is our consistent position.

We call on Russian citizens in various countries around the world to join the ranks of the global coalition in support of Ukraine.

BETRAYAL DOES NOT LEAD TO PEACE. Statement of the Free Russia Forum

Ukraine’s struggle against Russian aggression and the solidarity of nations in resistance to the Kremlin dictatorship are facing one of the most difficult tests of the entire war.

Russia, having failed to achieve success on the battlefield, is betting on leaving the population of Ukraine without electricity, water, and communications this winter. Ukraine is preparing for a harsh winter. The US is playing an ambiguous game with the Kremlin that does not lead to peace, but only worsens Ukraine’s position. European countries are today reformulating the foundations of their defense policies.

In these dangerous days, we wish to declare that a compromise with the Kremlin, based on political egoism and the rejection of global solidarity, will lead to catastrophe. The path to peace cannot lead through betrayal.

We know that the nations of Europe today face a definitive choice: to help Ukraine stand firm, or to accept the defeat of democracies.

The Free Russia Forum is convinced that no compromise is possible.

Aggressive totalitarianism, seeking to crush Ukraine, views Europe as an existential enemy. This is not rhetorical blackmail or a game of escalation. The Kremlin will not stop.

With this in mind, we support all those forms of struggle against Putin’s dictatorship that are clearly aimed at supporting Ukraine in its fight and at strengthening Europe’s readiness to take fundamentally new steps that will undermine Russia’s ability to wage war and lead to its defeat.

APPEAL OF THE FREE RUSSIA FORUM TO THE US CONGRESS:

The Free Russia Forum condemns the agreements between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin regarding the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the US and the decision of the current US administration to ease sanctions previously imposed on Russia.

We call on both the people and the US Congress to be guided primarily by the interests of their own security in this case. In the interest of this security, it is desirable not only to maintain but to increase the sanction pressure on Russia. This is necessary to deprive Putin’s Russia of the very possibility of continuing the war and threatening stability worldwide.

The proposed deal with Vladimir Putin is a true betrayal, not only of Ukraine, which continues to fight against Russian aggression, but it is also a step directed against the national interests of the United States of America itself. Furthermore, this agreement represents a direct threat to the national security of your great country.

There is no need for illusions—the USA was and remains the main adversary, enemy number one, for Putin’s Russia. And the resources that Vladimir Putin gains thanks to the easing of sanctions will ultimately be used not only against Ukraine and Europe, but also against the United States itself.

The deal being concluded by President Donald Trump opens new revenue opportunities for the Kremlin, which will undoubtedly be directed toward both continuing the bloody war against Ukraine and continuing the hybrid (for now, hybrid) war against the entire Western world, against US allies, and ultimately against the United States itself.

Instead of exerting maximum pressure on the aggressor state that tramples all democratic norms and wages a bloody war, the administration of President Donald Trump is effectively throwing the Putin regime a lifeline, helping Vladimir Putin overcome the consequences of Ukrainian strikes on the “lifeblood” of this aggressive war—the Russian oil infrastructure.

In the best-case scenario, President Donald Trump is sacrificing the security of the US and your partners for minimal short-term economic benefits. However, even these economic benefits for the US itself will not materialize. The American economy is too diversified and vast.
For Russia, however, the benefits will materialize. They will materialize because Putin’s Russia spends all additional financial resources exclusively on war and only on war.

In other words, if the deal is implemented, the Kremlin will completely outplay the White House and use the aid obtained literally from the United States of America both to continue drenching Ukrainian cities in blood and to support Iran (let us not turn a blind eye to this fact) in its war against the US.

As the Free Russia Forum, we consider it necessary to emphasize once again: it is precisely the victory of Ukraine that is of decisive importance for ensuring the security of the entire Western world, including the United States of America. As long as the Putin regime exists, the security of the entire world and the security of the US are directly threatened.

With deep respect for the traditions of American democracy, we support all your steps aimed at ending this criminal, bloody war, including the bipartisan Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act*, and express our hope for its early adoption.

*The Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act was announced on October 10, 2026, by Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick. It is intended to prevent purchases of Russian oil. Fitzpatrick explicitly describes it as a bipartisan initiative, although the names of Democratic co-sponsors have not yet been released.
