CyberLegion Hacks Rosatom’s Systems
CyberLegion, a group of hackers linked to the Freedom of Russia Legion, has obtained a large volume of internal documents from Rosatom, Russia’s largest and one of the world’s leading players in the nuclear energy sector. Below is a translation of the report on this success from the Freedom of Russia Legion’s Telegram channel.
Hacktivists from CyberLegion have managed to breach the systems of the state corporation Rosatom and obtain a range of classified materials.
Our partners possess a package of documents totaling over 300 gigabytes. This includes internal technical, production, and contractual documentation regarding the supply of equipment for nuclear power plants.
The main attack targeted the Iranian nuclear program. The materials include:
- detailed specifications and technical requirements for critical equipment for the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant (Iran), including precise installation locations, nomenclature, short delivery times, and strict instructions to “specify the shortest possible delivery time”;
- extensive Excel spreadsheets with production plans and orders for several nuclear power plants simultaneously: Belarusian, Kursk, Kalinin, Smolensk, Tianwan (China), Kudankulam (India), and other projects;
- official letters and certificates on the letterhead of JSC ATOMSTROYEXPORT (Rosatom’s engineering division);
- incoming inspection certificates, shipping document lists, and supplier lists, including EKOTON-RUS.
These are genuine internal documents showing that the regime was actively accelerating the delivery of critical equipment specifically for the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.
Today, as Rosatom is urgently evacuating its employees from Iran, it was reported that another group of 175 employees flew from Yerevan to Moscow on a special flight. Buses carrying personnel left the plant just 20 minutes after a strike near the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.
We believe the leak and the mass evacuation are directly related: the documents show how intensively Rosatom invested in the Iranian nuclear program, and today’s events demonstrate how quickly this project was compromised.
We call on independent media and all allies in this struggle to carefully study this information from our partners and disseminate it to the public. The more it spreads, the harder it will be for the regime to hide the truth.
